COMP104 (Beginner)	Using SCA for Modular Application Development	There are many industry standards for developing business applications (to name some of them: ABAP, Java, and BPEL) and for communicating with them (e.g. Web services, JMS, RFC). Although, some of the standards have achieved a high level of maturity and acceptance in IT departments, it is still a challenge to compose flexible business processes that involve components developed using different industry standards. The Service Component Architecture (SCA) aims to close these gaps and provides a standardized model and syntax for designing, developing, and assembling applications comprising a variety of technologies in a service-oriented architecture (SOA) style. Last but not least, the SCA standard managed to gain the support of all major industry leaders including IBM, SAP, Oracle, Sun Microsystems, Red Hat, and others. This presentation shows how Java EE technology-based applications can be extended by additional implementation technologies and how a modular application can be implemented by using SCA. The session also includes a short demo of the current SCA capabilities of SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment and a brief overview on the future steps for supporting SCA.
COMP105 (Beginner)	Memory Analysis for Enterprise-Class Java Applications With SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment	This session describes the SAP Memory Analyzer and how it can help to troubleshoot Java memory problems in production systems faster and more reliably. The tool was recently open-sourced by SAP under the Eclipse Public License and is used to analyze production-size Java heap dumps for memory leaks and high memory consumption. Key capabilities of the tool are: Automated reporting of leak suspects Fast calculation of object sizes Support of multi-gigabyte production heap dumps Built-in SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment knowledge This session also includes a demo which shows the automated discovery of memory leaks and looks behind the scenes of the generated report.

COMP107 (Beginner)	Enhancement and Switch Framework Overview	All new ERP functionality that will be provided on top of SAP ERP 6.0 until 2010 will be delivered in enhancement packages. This lecture conveys both the basics of this enhancement package strategy and its technological backbone: the enhancement and switch framework that enables you to decouple the import of new functionality from its activation and to choose which business functions to activate. You will understand how the new framework makes the enhancement package strategy work and you will learn how you can use this framework to realize modification-free enhancements in your own system.
COMP108 (Beginner)	Use ABAP Objects and XML to Create MS Office Docs/SS on the Application Server	The presentation will demonstrate the ability to incorporate Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, etc.) into your SAP applications. The way that this approach differs from the current way is it utilizes an object-oriented approach. It can be used on the application (server-side) or presentation server (client-side), and it utilizes the office products' ability to use XML. Nearly all methods that I see today are only capable of performing on the presentation server which prevents them from working in a background job. The benefits of this approach is reusability, nearly complete availability of office format options, compatible for Office 2003 and forward, ability to provide output in a format that nearly all clients are familiar with, and ease of use.

COMP110 (Intermediate)	Error Handling and Monitoring Framework for Interfaces With SAP NetWeaver PI and SAP NetWeaver XI	Errors are inevitable in any interface architecture. When data flows between systems, there are various points of failure that include both application and system errors. SAP NetWeaver PI and SAP NetWeaver XI offer many "out-of-the-box" tools for monitoring and error handling like CCMS, alert framework, SXI_Monitor, runtime work bench, end-to-end monitoring, etc. However, to provide a robust monitoring and error handling architecture, there is a need to customize some of these tools to meet specific business requirements. For example, in CCMS, the auto reaction method can be customized to determine the criticality of the error based on underlying messages. An ABAP proxy program can dynamically create IDOCs for those LUWs that land in error or adapter modules and can be built to enhance end-to-end monitoring capabilities. In this session, we will share some of our experience in building such enhancements and tools to the standard monitoring framework of SAP NetWeaver PI. Areas that will be covered include: 1. Error handling framework for ABAP proxies – Dynamically create IDOCs in case of LUWs and alert framework for sending notifications 2. Customize CCMS – Enhance CCMS to dynamically determine the criticality of an alert and move blocked queue entries to a staging area so as to allow the other messages in the queue to continue processing

COMP165 (Beginner)	Exploring Web Dynpro Java: Goals, Concepts, Benefits	In this session you will explore the real goals, concepts, and benefits of the Web Dynpro Java UI framework for building business Web applications. We highlight particular features of Web Dynpro like its client-agnostic user interface concept to run the same application on different client devices, its rich UI element library with in-built AJAX functions, its value help, message, and personalization services, its model-based development environment with maximized code generation, its component model, its integration into the SAP NetWeaver Portal and its model interface to consistently integrate EJBs, Web services, or RFC modules. We illustrate how these functions yield benefits in respect of UI consistency, client device independence, accessibility, reusability, and reduced total costs of development and maintenance. COMP167 (Beginner)	Web Dynpro Java for Beginners	This session is aimed at any developer wishing to get up to speed on Web Dynpro for Java. Web Dynpro is SAP's flagship UI development toolset for the creation of custom business applications and is based on an SAP specific implementation of the Model-View-Controller design pattern. Its design concepts focus on the development and reuse of units of code known as components. In addition, the visual interface presented to the user by a Web Dynpro component has been designed in such a way that all the HTML and JavaScript needed to render the screen are generated for you. This not only accelerates the pace of development, but also allows the developers to focus on the important task of managing the flow of data through the business application without being sidetracked by the technical difficulties of having to implement a particular feature of the UI in four different browser flavors. However, in some cases you might want to define your own Enterprise Service using the provided modeling tools in the ESR to create a synchronous interface using global data types. The SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment features all required capabilities to implement your enterprise service with Java EE 5 technologies. COMP301 (Advanced)	Boeing's Experiences Integrating Adobe Forms Into Their Business Processes	This session aims at sharing our experiences using Adobe forms with participants who plan to, or are currently, using custom Adobe forms. Our experiences have involved developing complex custom print-based and interactive forms and integrating them into our business processes. We will present examples of forms we developed using transaction SFP and Adobe Live Cycle Designer, and provide tips on how we used various form elements to meet some of our more complex needs and achieve the desired effects. We will provide details on how we integrated Adobe forms into our custom Web applications in the SAP NetWeaver Portal. We will discuss how to configure the UWL to provide actions to launch Adobe forms from various work items, as well as a technique to convert your forms to PDFs and attach them in emails via workflow. Lastly, we will walk through our development of an offline interactive form to support a specific business need. This will include development of the form and using dynamic data binding to load dropdown lists, creating a program to generate the form and make it available to customers to complete offline, using form calc to validate entries, perform calculations in the form, and creating a program to upload the completed form's data and update the SAP database. Given our broad use of different SAP technologies and our expanding use of Adobe forms, we hope that all participants will gain tips and techniques that they can directly apply to their projects.

Technically MDMs and the attached ECC system's functionality has been exposed as Web services and registered in the SAP Enterprise Service Repository. Consumed by a Modeling Framework, in this case the SAP NetWeaver Visual Composer, the individual Web services have been wrapped to workflow steps and combined to a logical process flow. Many of the existing interfaces were batch process and BDC sessions. IM215 (Intermediate)	Data Exchanges Between Unicode-Enabled R/3 and Non-Unicode Legacy Systems via SAP NetWeaver XI	Many enterprises have been running SAP R/3 successfully for a number of years. These systems have made use of ALE technology to exchange data between SAP R/3 and third party systems (e.g. Electronic Data Interchange and Warehouse Management Systems). However, most had been in place long before Unicode systems were made available, and the data exchanges have been made under either single-code-page or a Multi-Display Multi-Processing (MDMP) system. Now, as an enterprise's SAP R/3 system is converted or upgraded to a Unicode-enabled system, the third party systems may not be able to catch up and remain as before (i.e., non-Unicode). As an example, this lecture will illustrate how the Colgate-Palmolive Company exchanges data between a Unicode-enabled SAP R/3 - which was a MDMP system with blended code page, supporting 27 European languages - and IBM MQ Series using SAP NetWeaver Exchange Infrastructure (SAP NetWeaver XI) to convert Unicode to non-Unicode data and vice versa.

It is a well known fact that a well designed SAP NetWeaver BI data model provides the strongest foundation for any successful SAP NetWeaver BI project implementation. Organizations with a strong SAP NetWeaver BI data modeling foundation can have the luxury of further enjoying any analytical tools like SAP CRM, SAP SRM, SAP SCM, SAP SEM, etc., which need to access the SAP NetWeaver BI data. The purpose of implementing the EDW models is to achieve flexibility, scalability, reduced data redundancy, less complex transformations, high data quality, and robustness.
