Green IT Through Archiving and Content ManagementSAP Community Network Sessions

Your SAP landscape expands relentlessly through the frequent addition of servers and storage devices needed to keep up with the proliferation of systems and data. Meanwhile, your business users continue to print and copy, thereby consuming enormous amounts of paper. These practices result in unnecessary consumption of carbon resources. To counter this trend, Best Run IT organizations adopt a data and document archiving methodology using SAP Document Access by Open Text to control data growth, to decommission legacy systems and servers, and to eliminate paper-based processes. Attendees will learn how to use data and document archiving and disposition in conjunction with typical business processes such as Order-To-Cash and how to employ the ADK and AS functionality in SAP's Archive Information System to set up archiving sessions. Attendees will also learn how to use an Xcelsius-based Carbon Footprint Calculator to compute the sustainability benefits realizable by their organizations based on the effective application of enterprise data and content management.
