With the advance of enterprise service-oriented architecture (eSOA) and the SAP NetWeaver platform, composite applications are starting to become more common as a way to roll out new functionality to end users. If designed and built correctly, these composite applications dramatically change the way end users interact with their IT applications and systems. However, many corporations are still struggling to understand the benefits of using and implementing composite applications, as well as the technology architecture necessary to build and support them.

The goal of this one-day session is to provide an introduction to composite applications, examples of out-of-the box and custom-developed applications, technology and architecture considerations, and lessons learned. It will also provide an opportunity to ask questions to customers and SAP product managers and gain valuable feedback. Finally, this session will provide you with an overview of the SAP TechEd 2008 sessions that you should consider attending in order to gain an even deeper understanding of the topics covered during the day.

This session is intended for attendees who are familiar with SAP NetWeaver terminology but that would like to gain a better understanding of composite applications.
