Travel Tips

Most major air carriers service Las Vegas, Nevada via McCarran International Airport (LAS). Taxicabs are available on the east side of baggage claim, outside door exits 1-5. Taxicabs only accept cash. A $1.20 fee applies to fares originating at the airport. Drive time between McCarran and The Venetian is about 15 minutes depending on traffic.

Before you book your flights, please be mindful that taxicab lines and TSA security checkpoint lines at McCarran can be very long at times, upwards of 30-45 minutes. Give yourself some extra time.

Before you pack, check the current Las Vegas weather. The average high temperature in October is 81°F / 27°C. Conference dress is casual. Bring comfortable shoes for walking through the expansive convention center and a sweater or light jacket for those chilly air-conditioned classrooms.

Viva Las Vegas

For over 100 years, Las Vegas has been "the meadows" in the Nevada desert, but it was in 1931 that the city began its quest to be the "entertainment capital of the world." Today, you can visit New York, Paris, and Venice in a day's walk, or ride a rollercoaster 100 stories above the ground. For those of you more grounded by your stomach, Las Vegas is a world class culinary destination with chefs like Wolfgang Puck, Thomas Keller, and Emeril Lagasse all showcasing their fare. Or if you fancy pure spectacle, Las Vegas has an array of shows like nowhere else. Enjoy the nightlife "Only Vegas" can provide!
