VMware virtualization technologies are deployed today by thousands of SAP customers helping them to dramatically lower their capital and operational expenditures for their SAP environments while increasing their SAP service levels. With VMware vSphere, SAP customers can, for example, consolidate their landscape, move SAP applications dynamically and without downtime across servers to ensure performance SLAs and reduce planned downtime, and enjoy high availability without a need for clustering software. In addition, VMware vSphere can dynamically rebalance and consolidate the landscape, minimizing compute resources which translates to significant energy savings. Beyond providing an overview of the technologies and their benefits in SAP landscapes, in this session we will look at three specific customer examples and give a detailed analysis of how they were able to save between 70% and 80% of their capital and operational costs for their SAP environments. We will also discuss the Green benefits that VMware technologies deliver.
