Business Integration in Mixed Unicode and Non-Unicode System Landscapes

Unicode is the only true technical solution to support any language combination in a global SAP system and any IT system. A large system landscape with SAP and non-SAP systems often consists of mixed Unicode and non-Unicode components exchanging language text data in any combination. To fully enable global business integration in any scenario this data exchange requires proper design, configuration, and occasional program adjustments of numerous interfaces. This session presents the architecture, technology, tools, solution maps, and the newest SAP NetWeaver developments how this challenge can be mastered. Selected integration scenarios, examples, and use cases will be shown for illustration.

 

Prerequisites:

Good knowledge of SAP technology, SAP NetWeaver, Unicode, integration and interfaces technologies (RFC, ALE, BAPIs, Web Services, SAP NetWeaver PI, etc.) Basis knowledge of ABAP and Java Interest in non-SAP software components
